Spiritual Fun

It took me awhile to move above the often binary view of religion. That you must be LGBT or Christian. That you must be a yogi and poor or rich and agnostic. Of course these mutually exclusive views are wildly wrong, it can take a lot of work to find your own path. The best way I can describe my own unique spiritual journey — which is of course ongoing - is thru a picture. I truly think every individual in America is meant to get closer to their creator and find a path that allows them to be the best version of themselves. This page is dedicated to that journey.

Over the years, I have come to learn that God, Jesus, the Universe, Buddha, Providence - whatever your favorite word - works thru us as creative individuals. We see this in movies, music, art, business, and a variety of mediums. I have been Catholic, Buddhist, a Yogi, a Mormon, and a Kirtan chanter, among other spiritual seeking paths. Below are some of my favorite spiritual resources to inspire your own creativity. For a more detailed account of my time leaving the Church of Jesus Christ and a poem for my healing, as a gay man, click this link.

One of my own personal struggles is with addiction. For me, as a creative person the world is constantly trying to put you in a box. Act this way, create it this way, this is how we do things. As we all know, that mindset never works for people who are not fond of the status quo. To aid in my own healing from addiction I wrote this short poem, which you can find by clicking this link.

Enjoy! I hope these resources help you find the spirit within you, and/or aid in your own journey back to yourself, as they have me. Sending you all the best of vibes!

To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doings its best, night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting.
— E.E. Cummings

Kirtan Chanting (for me) is a process of “letting go” of attachments. Say the words!
